Starbucks is expanding it's food offering with the acquisition of La Boulange Bakery.
The coffee chain, which burgeoned in the late 90s to the point of high-street ubiquity, is looking to reinvent itself with the $100m all-cash purchase after arguably becoming somewhat tired as a brand.
It's never been renowned for its food, even at the height of its success, which was built around the quality of its coffee, it seating and ambience.
