Saturday 23rd January marked the first National Conference involving the five brands in the newly-formed Property Franchise Group.
Franchise owners from around the length and breadth of England, Scotland and Wales travelled to Northampton to represent five regional and national estate agencies – CJ Hole, Ellis & Co, Martin & Co, Parkers and Whitegates.
Led by CEO Ian Wilson and Group Managing Director Michael Stoop, the conference was the first opportunity for estate agents to network, discuss business. Michael Stoop spoke about themes including a reflection on the last year in the property market, plus a look at the opportunities and threats in the industry for the coming two years.
Ian Wilson offered analysis from City investors, especially given the significance of the first full year in which each of the five brands operated in an AIM-listed company.
While the best in lettings and estate agency talents congregated, guest speakers included The Property Ombudsman’s Christopher Hamer and estate agency expert Richard Rawlings.
Business owners also got to network with their main suppliers in an exhibition setting. The exhibitors were, in alphabetical order: Agent Centric, Brief Your Market, Christopher Watkin, Dataloft, Fixflo, The Landlord Hub, London & Country, Property Logic, Reapit, Rightmove and The Outside View.
Offices also took part in the annual Awards Ceremony, from which nine winners across all brands were announced in five categories: Best Young Business, Best Business growth, Franchise of the Year per brand, Group Franchise of the Year, and Outstanding Individual Contribution.
The evening section of the event consisted of a black-tie three course dinner and live entertainment.
