Barnsley care provider raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society

17 August 2015

North West home care provider, Caremark (Barnsley) continued their drive to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society by providing a bag packing service at their local supermarket.

Dedicated Caremark (Barnsley) staff gave up their Saturday to help customers with their weekend shop, packing their bags for a small contribution to the care provider’s chosen charity.

Alongside this, Caremark  staff organized a tombola stand displaying a wide selection of quality gifts which had been generously donated by Caremark (Barnsley) staff and friends.

Caremark (Barnsley)’s Care Manager, Cathryn Fewster said: ‘It was a fantastic day and the supermarket welcomed us with open arms enabling us to set up in the main foyer.  We had lots of fun with the customers, working tirelessly packing their bags and there was plenty of interest in the tombola.”

Funds raised from this event go towards the £100,000 target for the Alzheimer’s Society which is primarily being raised by the Caremark JOGLE charity bike ride in September, when a Caremark team of 8 riders, pedal 1000 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End over 10 grueling days.

Fewster added: “We raised over £500 on the day and everyone had a great day.  ASDA have asked us to come back again soon, which we will be organizing for the Autumn.”

Caremark (Barnsley) provide personalized care and support services to a broad range of people in their own homes, enabling them to continue living safely and independently in familiar surroundings.

Since launching in the Autumn of 2011, the privately owned company has grown rapidly and is now delivering more than 3000 hours of care and support to people in their local community.

With demand for competitively priced quality home care, this upward trend looks set to continue for the forseeable future.
