‘Outstanding’ care service gets a letter of thanks from Secretary of State for Health.

03 November 2017

It’s not every day that one receives a personal letter from the Rt. Hon. Jeremy Hunt MP, Secretary of State for Health, offering thanks and congratulations for a good job done.

However, Caremark’s franchisee in the North East is delighted to have received a letter from       Mr Hunt.  This followed the announcement of their recent OUTSTANDING rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Charles Folkes and his team at Caremark (Redcar & Cleveland) work tirelessly to provide a first class service which is clearly reflected in some of the comments from their last inspection.

“Within this vibrant, dynamic and innovative service there was the strong sense of leadership, commitment and drive to deliver a service which improved people's lives. The culture embedded in the service was one where all the staff were committed to deliver a service that was focused totally on each person and responsive to their needs, which relatives and people described as defining what outstanding care looked like. They were committed to providing excellent person-centred care.”

Their achievement is all the sweeter because only 1% of providers in the UK reach this high standard of OUTSTANDING which is what prompted Mr Hunt to write to the Redcar and Cleveland team and formally acknowledge the ‘immense amount of day to day hard work’ they put in to ensure their clients receive a first class care and support service.

He went on to add that ‘this outcome cannot be underestimated.  It is greatly appreciated, not just by me, but by all who will be benefitting as a result.’

Reflecting on this Charles Folkes, MD of Caremark (Redcar & Cleveland) said: “Receiving a personal letter from Jeremy Hunt was the icing on the cake – we’re all incredibly proud and pleased with the result.  We couldn’t have achieved this rating without the support of our amazing staff and clients and I would like to thank them for making us the company we are.”

It has been a good year for the Guisborough based care provider so far, with the possibility of further accolades coming from the north east regional Great British Care Awards honoring their five finalists selected for three different award categories.

Either way, 2017 will be a year to be remembered!
