Driver Hire’s franchisees are celebrating an outstanding December. Christmas 2016 sales across its nationwide network of specialist recruitment offices proved to be an all-time record, topping out at £11.5m, a 9% increase on same time last year.

Its December performance caps a successful 2016 in which Driver Hire enjoyed impressive growth. As a result the network is all set to achieve a record year – their fourth in a row.

A market leader in their sector, Driver Hire has a 102 office network, 85 of which are franchised. They provide staff to the transport & logistics industry and indeed any business or organisation which operates their own fleet of vehicles. By the end of December, a third of Driver Hire franchisees had already passed the £1m turnover mark for the current financial year.

Tony and Linda Lucas are the owners of Driver Hire’s Coventry office. In line with the rest of the network, they enjoyed a busy Christmas trading period. Over the four main trading weeks, year-on-year their turnover increased by an average of 43%. “December is always a busy month. This year was exceptional. There was high demand from our regular all-year-round customers backed up by increased seasonal demand from parcel delivery companies.”
