Since purchasing the property in 2002, when it was originally called the Dunskey Golf Hotel, the current owners have spent a lot of time and effort in establishing it into one of the finest guest houses in the area. The most noticeable change is addition of the spacious and well laid out owners’ accommodation, making the property a lot more appealing as a business and family home all under one roof. This substantial detached property, which we understand dates back to the 1900,s was converted to a hotel late 1940’s, so we believe and then into a guest house by our clients. Split over ground, first and second floors the building is of a stone construction under a varying pitched tiled roof. With the external of the building benefitting from a recent refurbishment, the neat painted render makes the property instantly recognisable from the road.
All public areas within the property are accessed via a bright and welcoming entrance vestibule and hallway, incorporating the staircase leading to the letting bedrooms.
Located to the left-hand side of the hallway this bright and pleasing room, which was previously the lounge bar when it was a hotel, is tastefully decorated and overlooks the gardens to the front of the property via a large bay window. This room is used purely for the guests where continental or full Scottish breakfast is served.
Another bright room accessed directly from the hallway, offers a relaxing atmosphere for guests after a busy day exploring the great outdoors and take advantage of the small library of books and selection of board games. This room also has a fireplace and overlooks the front garden.
The property trades with 9 individual letting bedrooms, all with en suite facilities. Each of the rooms are presented well and split over the first and second/attic level. 4 doubles, 1 single and 1 family on the first with 2 family and 1 double on second and attic. The rooms to the front command splendid elevated views down towards Portpatrick. Each room has tea & coffee making facilities, central heating, radio alarm clock, DVD player and TV.
